IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Fort Lauderdale, FL Nov 3, 2011 | 26 North Yachts – 26 North Yachts used the recent Fort Lauderdale Boat Show to ramp up its coming 2012 sales drive with new sales contracts “under negotiation” and further deals in progress.

The team led by owners, Mike Carlson and Nicholas Scherb, preceded the boat show by signing up a Central Listing Agreement on pre-owned Azimut 102 called Texas Star.

They also took the celebratory step of teaming up with the legendary Fiat brand to throw a VIP party bash at Solitas on the opening day of the boat show.

The boat show featured over 1000 yachts in 25 locations, with much of the focus centered on luxury yachts between 80-130 feet.

26 North Yachts introduced boat show buyers and sellers to unique products aimed exclusively at the luxury yacht market.

These included premium video business cards and a proprietary seller market analysis that data mines industry data to determine accurate listing, asking and selling prices.

“We are an aggressive, bold team who do not ‘accept business as usual’ in the luxury yacht sector. We are constantly introducing new tools for both buyers and sellers including a new custom search engine on 26NorthYachts.com,” said Mike Carlson.

Co-owner Nicholas Scherb, said 26 North Yachts used the show to announce new additions to their sales team including Jonathan Sands who has extensive yacht broker and boat survey experience.

“It was an extremely successful show for us, allowing us to connect a number of buyers to quality luxury listings in Fort Lauderdale and internationally,” said Mr. Scherb.

“Our research shows that Fort Lauderdale represents roughly $9 billion of Florida’s luxury yacht industry revenue. There is probably about $350-400 million that is derived from the show itself, if you consider past boat show statistics. We thus use the show to aggressively promote listings and help buyers make informed decisions,” said Mr. Scherb.

Mr. Carlson confirms that 26 North Yachts is aiming its sales firepower at the global pre-owned luxury yacht market, not just locally.

“While we are considered experts with regards prominent U.S. builders such as Westport and Lazzara, we have a unique understanding of European and Asian markets,” said Mr. Carlson.

“We continue to see strong interest in signature European brands such as the Ferretti Custom Line 100’ which made its worldwide debut at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show.”

“I have also just returned from a successful sea trial and survey in France. This is typical of our global focus and pedigree beyond the U.S. marketplace.”

“We are receiving a number of buyer inquiries from countries such as Brazil, China, Hong Kong and Singapore. This was unheard of a few years ago. Today this is becoming a common occurrence for pre-owned luxury yachts we market around the world,” said Mr. Carlson.

26 North Yachts also confirmed a strong interest in their charter division, which focuses on exclusive private charters in locations such as Monaco, Côte d’Azur, Caribbean and the South Pacific for their international clientele.
